Numbers of Killed Soldiers
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 2,500 to 3,000 soldiers have died and 10,000 have been injured since Russia invaded the country, snippets of which aired Friday on CNN.
Given the available information, Ukraine estimates the Russian military’s casualties at 19,000 to 20,000, he said. Communication channels in Ukraine are cut off, so it is difficult to calculate the total civilian casualties.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of the Interior
Numbers of Killed civilians
The UN said at least 2,700 civilians were killed. Explosives, as well as heavy artillery fire, were responsible for most of the deaths, the mission said. Among the dead, at least 70 were children, and at least 2,651 civilians have been wounded since the start of the war.
The use of chemical weapons in Ukraine
As some military experts are worried that if the upcoming Russian attack in the Donbass fails to attain its goals, in his desperation, President Putin may authorize chemical weapons to be used against stubborn defenders.
Which could result in even more Ukrainians being killed and wounded.
